Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved to write. As an adult, I became a journalist. I worked at community newspapers in the Chicago suburbs. I quit working full-time when my twin sons Nick and David were born. Then I wrote freelance articles about parenting, the arts, health, cats, and other topics for newspapers, magazines, and online sites.
I fell in love with children's books when I read to my sons. Now I enjoy writing both fiction and nonfiction for children of all ages. I review children's picture books on my blog, "Can You Read Me a Story?" You can take a look at it on this website.
I've been studying drawing, painting, and illustration, taking classes online and at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. I have included pictures of my work on this site. I would like to illustrate children's books, including some of my own stories.
I grew up in Central Illinois, and later lived in Chicago and its suburbs, and Farmington Hills, Michigan. Today I make my home in Manhattan with my husband Todd.
Spend some time looking around my site. Read my blog and enjoy my illustrations. Send me a message or join my Reading List if you would like. Thanks for visiting.
